Every year, the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha search for an incoming man deserving of our annual academic scholarship. Though this scholarship is academic in nature, we do not simply look for the best students, but rather the most well rounded individuals. We seek men who demonstrate their character through their extracurricular activities in addition to excellence in the classroom. The scholarship recipient is chosen through both the content of his application as well as an interview process that allows each applicant to freely display his unique, individual attributes.

Once scholarship applications have been received, a scholarship committee thoroughly goes through each application, taking into consideration academic excellence, participation in activities in and out of school, and how the individual is a unique man of character and leadership. The committee also forms useful interview questions for each individual applicant to better illustrate what they have submitted to the committee on paper.

All applicants are then contacted for the interview. The purpose of the interview is to not only get to know the applicant personally, but to also understand the applicant's qualifications that cannot be expressed on paper. The interview allows the committee to better decide which man is most deserving of the scholarship. Interviews now take place before the school year during the applicant's orientation OR during Move-In Week. All interviewed applicants are then invited to attend the fraternity's annual Scholarship Barbeque, held in late August before the start of the Fall Semester.

Applications are open to all incoming freshman males. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to one deserving first-place recipient, in the amount of $500. Applicants are in no way bound to the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity by applying for or receiving this scholarship. But an introduction to Greek Life, to the house, and to the brothers is always available and welcome to prospective applicants.
